PLEASE NOTE: Motor vehicle traffic is not permitted through Yellowstone National Park’s west entrance from early November to late April every year. However, the entrance remains open to hikers and cross-country skiers year-round. Guided tours on over-snow vehicles (snowmobiles and snow-coaches) are available mid-December through mid-March. The only entrance that remains open year-round to motor vehicles is the north entrance which is 170 miles (3 hours drive) away .
