This charming two-bedroom holiday home in the Peak District is an historic, Grade II listed cottage. It began life as a toll bar, lying on the border of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
It is situated in the beautiful Derbyshire Village of Hathersage at the ‘Fidler’s Elbow’ between Ringinglow road and Sheffield Road. This gives it stunning views of the Hope Valley in all seasons.
The accommodation comprises an entrance porch, lobby and breakfast kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, built-in fridge and microwave. The lounge and dining room features a stone flagged floor, beams and multi-fuel burner. Both bedrooms to the first floor are spacious doubles. The family bathroom on the ground floor has a corner bath and separate shower.
The cottage has its own large garden which merges seamlessly into Whim Wood, where you can enjoy walks and even set up camp. Beyond lies Owler Tor and several fantastic walks including Millstone Edge. The owner also owns three acres of paddock across the road. You can also visit the nearby Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, where you’ll also find a scenic garden, farmyard and playground, perfect for a day out with the children.
