Travel Purpose: business

Positive: This is a beautifully designed hotel, with sufficient parking options and easy to reach location. The rooms are spacious and there are almost no synthetic materials used, which I loved so much - the floor is solid wood parquet and marble, carpets/rugs were natural fibre. The bed is incredibly comfortable, really great sleep. The stove in the kitchen was also high quality stuff - it was a 4 plate induction top with a full size furnace. No foul smells, no noise. Restaurant also stylish and cosy. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Negative: This hotel should be an easy 10, but I am not rating the hotel higher, because of a strange paradox - despite the fine design and obvious initial investment, it seems that currently it is not managed as well as it deserves. The kitchen in the room was poorly equipped and didn't have basic things, like coffee/tea facilities - no kettle, even not a pot where you could warm some water. There were just a couple of spoons/forks, two glasses (no mugs), two small bowls (no plates) and a pan. Maybe some bottle openers, but I was there for work, not leisure. Strange. I had to heat up water in the pan to make coffee (that I had brough from home) .... And there was no dishwashing liquid and no sponge. As I stayed 3 nights and needed to wash the glasses at some point, I got some dishwashing liquid from the receptionist, on request, but they didn't have any sponge. Very strange. I mean, the hotel is advertised as an apart-hotel, so they should offer some basic housekeeping stuff by default. And something else - the toilet got clogged on the 1st morning, not a nice view. They fixed it during the day without any fuzz, but explained to me it got clogged by toilet paper - and there was no sign whatsoever warning the guests that they should not throw toilet paper in the toilet. I have been to hundreds worse hotels than this one, but none of them got clogged by toilet paper. Really, very strange. I hope these were just temporary hickups and the way the hotel is management will improve.
