However, we DO NOT allow cars to be parked in the garage at this time. Dory Lakes is a peaceful, quiet, rural mountain neighborhood off of the scenic Peak-to-Peak Highway (HWY 119) which connects Central City / Black Hawk to Estes Park and Idaho Springs / I-70. (Oct - May) you must have an all-wheel drive, 4x4, or vehicle with snow tires to drive to the house. Our driveway is plowed during the winter, but it is a little steep so an appropriate vehicle is required to get to the house. The neighborhood road is packed dirt and gravel and well maintained. There are NO rideshare services (no Lyft, no Uber) in the area. If renting a car, inspect the tires before driving. Please note the driveway is plowed but may be icy in sections. Please use caution driving up and down the driveway and exiting your vehicle when arriving at the house. If more than 3-4" inches of snow falls during your stay we recommended waiting until the plow service comes before going up or down the driveway. You can always park at the bottom of the driveway if you need to. Guests MUST have an AWD or a 4-wheel drive car in the winter (Oct-May) to get to the house and up our driveway. It is essential to have a car that is capable in the snow - if renting, inspect tires before leaving the rental lot, ensure you have good tread. Ride-share is not available in the area (Uber and Lyft). This area is home to moose, fox, deer, elk, bears, mountain lions, and bobcats. The house DOES NOT have air conditioning in the summer as the mountain air keeps the house cool in the summer months. ** Tuesdays ** A hot tub technician checks the chemicals and comes by between 10am - 4pm. He has access to the garage, and he usually is in and out within 15 minutes. He will walk around the back side of the house to the hot tub and does not need access to the house. ** Fridays ** Trash is collected on Fridays! Please ensure that the trash and recycling cans are outside in the driveway starting Thursday night. All trash must be bagged and all recycling must be placed in the recycling can un-bagged.
