Welcome to the Can Marcer de la Penya Guest House, a 17th century masia (Catalan word for large country house) that once produced 140,000 litres of wine a year. It has been restored to a high standard, but with care to maintain much of its original character.
It’s a perfect location for Large Groups of Friends, Multi-Generational Family Gatherings, Weddings, Creative, Wellness or Corporate Retreats.

The reason we moved here and bought this villa was firstly the fantastic location. It has everything:
- Sitges is only 10 minutes drive to awesome beaches, restaurants, bars, nightlife, boutiques, culture, water sports, sailing, horse riding and golf courses.
- Easy ride to Barcelona airport only 30 minutes away with lots of low cost airlines
- For a city retail and culture fix we’re only 40 minutes drive to Barcelona centre.
- Rural space and tranquillity, with wonderful walks or picturesque bike rides in the Garraf Natural Park opposite or the Olerdola or Foix Natural Parks nearby.
- Local Supermarkets, tennis and padel courts are just 5 minutes drive in Sant Pere de Ribes
- In the heart of Penedes wine country and 20 minutes to the famous Cava wine regions where you can go on local and internationally renowned bodega tours.
- Catalan history- this is not only a beach and party place, we’re steeped in history – from Roman settlements to Cistercian and Benedictine monasteries to Medieval castles and Art Nouveau architecture.
- Activities for Kids – in addition to watersports, minigolf and horse-riding, there’s Barcelona football club 30 minutes away, Port Aventura Theme Park, Aqualeon Water Park and Ferrari Land all around 30/40 minutes away

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
We have been keen to retain the period features of the house and make it as eco friendly as possible.
- We buy locally produced products and use local materials
- Water is a precious commodity here, so we are careful not to use more than we need. There’s a cocoa husk filtration system to clean the water which we use to irrigate the land and we collect rainwater to water the plants.
- Plastic- There's an osmosis water purification system for drinking water to cut down on the amount of plastic bottles used.
- Recycling – there are labelled bins at the villa to separate waste.
- To save on energy there are LED lights throughout and we ask Guests to turn off aircon/appliances when they’re not using them.
Even though we’re close to all the fun and facilities of Sitges and Barcelona, we remain close to nature, in a rural setting, with stunning views of the Garraf Natural Park. It’s comforting to know that every year the sparrow hawks, house martins and Tawny owls will return to their nests and lay their eggs to produce the next generation of life.
