Around 1269, during a bird hunt, the bishop of Mariana Opizo Pernice discovered a very cool spring on a hill.
The site seemed to him so beautiful that he decided to have his house built there and named the place Belfiorito.
Over time, with the habit of saying that we go up to visit the bishop: "Al Vesco vado" ("I will see the bishop"), the village of Belfiorito ends up taking the name of VESCOVATO .
Our charming house is located in a small cobbled street which can only be reached on foot, which gives it absolute calm, however, the parking is nearby. The house being located in the center of the village you will have access on foot to restaurants, bars and the river. The House was completely renovated in 2013, but has kept the charm of the old while combining comfort and modernity. It will welcome you with its 2 bedrooms equipped with a double bed, a bunk bed in an anteroom, a bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen.

Summary: While the house is old with massive stone walls it's interior is very modern and has everything you need. A well equipped kitchen combined with a big nice living room, a great bathroom and nice beedrooms. It consists of two floors and there's another bedroom on the lower level that can be accessed via a small balkony which we didn't use as we were four people only. The brown wooden window shutters allow to keep the place shady while the windows are open. The location is great and quiet with no traffic in front of the house as it can be only accessed via a footpath covered with flat stones. It takes like three minutes to a small public place where the car can be parked or offloaded. The village is easy to access by car and quite close to the main road going from Bastia to the South where all the infrastructure like supermarkets are. A long sandy beach is just 10-15 minutes away by car. We always liked to come back to the cool house after having spent a day on the beach or doing other trips into the mountains including swimming in rivers and waterfalls or to visit other places. Generally it was the perfect location for us to escape the more busy coast and although the village is not very high up in the mountains there was always a little refreshing wind. We were nicely welcomed on the village place and guided to the house. The communication with the host was very good. Thanks for a great time we could spent in the house!
