Positive: It was clean and mostly quiet - when someone next door had their TV on I could hear it through the wall, but other sounds were dull and much less jarring than at other hotels I've been to recently in Asia. The hotel is fairly tired - it could use a spruce up - but all the bones are there and it was such a nice change from all the weird and eclectic places I've been staying at. There's an elevator of course, but also a big wide stairway for those who want some extra exercise. It felt like it would be extra safe in case of an emergency. Oh, and the young lady at reception is unfailing warm and enthusiastic. And it seems completely genuine. That was pretty nice too ☺️
Negative: The cleaning crew used one of the corners of the stairwell as a storage space which not only looked unprofessional, it could pose a safety risk if the hotel needs to be evacuated. Also, the lights for the hallway were using switched off, making the place seem quite dim and grey. Also, the location isn't great if you don't have your own transport and you like to walk a lot (like I do). But I really just needed to get some good rest while I was here and it totally served that purpose.
