Positive: The location was great—close to downtown and easy to get around. The house itself had plenty of space with different rooms, which made it very comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio.
Negative: The location was convenient, close to downtown, and the house had a good amount of space with a nice patio. However, there were several issues during our stay that need attention. The house smelled strongly of cats and did not feel truly clean. For example, there was dust behind the toilet, an old bar of soap left in the shower, and the bathroom mat looked very worn and overdue for replacement. Towels were difficult to find (we only discovered them in a drawer in the living room on the last day). The narrow hallway and creaky floors also made the space less comfortable. The kitchen itself was spacious, but many of the pots, pans, and utensils had not been cleaned properly—one even had old food stuck in it and was starting to rust. The couches were very worn, and the beds were uncomfortable; one felt lopsided, and the others had plastic coverings that made it hard to sleep. We also had concerns about safety. While sitting on the patio, we witnessed troubling activity from the neighbors, and the back patio door appeared to have been kicked in at some point, showing visible dents. Overall, the house has potential with its location and space, but it is poorly maintained and in need of a thorough cleaning and some updates to make it a more comfortable and safe stay.
Summary: Think again. Pay that extra few bucks.
