Summary: First let me say that my family loved our stay. The house is in an amazing location, walking distance from the beautiful Kennebunkport Beaches. You can enjoy morning coffee and sunset dinners on the back patio with the tidal river in full view or enjoy a lovely walk down the street and beach. The beach located across the street from the property is great for walking and shell scavenging but is not an option here. Mother's beach and Gooch's Beach is a short 5 minute drive. Now, there were a few issues not withstanding. When we arrived, we found the trash bins in front overflowing with weeks worth of trash causing flies and odor. When I messaged Vacasa about the trash I was advised that trash pickup was on Monday (we arrived on Saturday). Monday came and went and the trash was never picked up and was still present, plus everything we generated, when we departed on Wednesday. The comforter in the master bedroom had blood stains, the shower curtain was moldy along with the toilet seat, and the grill on the patio was a mess and full of food debris from previous tenants. There were beach chairs on the back patio that were sandy and full of bird droppings. It appears that there was recent work on the cedar siding. During that work nails from the siding actually penetrated through to the interior of the house on the second floor and were located in proximity to one of the beds in the kids room. Fortunately our kids are older and know better but small kids could have been an injury in the making. As far as amenities go. It was pretty good. Stove is small and difficult to cook larger meals with. The electric kettle for hot water leaks. Plan to bring any and all kitchen essentials, salt and pepper, sugar etc..... The house doesn't have AC which honestly isn't a big deal with the breeze from the water but the window fans for the house were very dirty. Also, of note. The stairs leading to the second floor are very narrow and steep. Young children or elderly people with mobility issues would find it a challenge to get up stairs. Overall this is a nice place to stay for a small family. The cleanliness and amenities game needs to step up a bit. For the price of this property, the expectation was higher for amenities and cleanliness.
