Come relax in our newly renovated, stand alone guest house in beautiful Playa del Rey.
Our guests rave about out outdoor shower and sparkling 38' long lap pool! Our yellow lab Daisy and new rescue pup Lefty may even jump in the pool and swim with you! We are only a few blocks walk to the beach too.
We strictly follow Key Cleanliness Guidelines set by the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) We sanitize and deep clean between guests.
Parking- Please parallel park across the driveway directly in front of our garage. We only use the garage for storage so you won't be blocking our access and its legal to park there. Be assured you will always have a convenient place to park right in front of our home. It is also well lit at night with three large lights over the garage.
Our open concept guest house has an artistic, vintage, beachy vibe. The house features a comfy queen size bed with white cotton sheets and plenty of pillows and blankets. There is an empty chest of drawers and a large locker with ample clothing storage and plenty of hangers.
Enjoy our light-filled sitting area with vintage daybed sofa and two chairs. Eight panels of floor-to-ceiling Panoramic doors let in lots of light or open them up for the salt air and sea breeze. You also have a great view of our brand new ozone (75% less chlorine) 38’ x 10’ lap pool. There's a ceiling fan too if you want to keep the doors closed but keep the breeze going.
The Sweet Spot has its own exclusive WIFI. You can stream Netflix and Amazon on the large screen TV. You can also stream CBS on Amazon for news and weather. Sorry, we don't have cable but you're not really here to watch tv, right?
We have everything you'll need to prepare meals or snacks in our well-equipped kitchen including a new stove, refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. (*Please note: we do not have a dishwasher) You can cozy up to the stainless steel prep table with vintage pendant lights for a breakfast, light meals or cocktails. Or maybe you'd prefer to dine alfresco at our six-person outdoor farm table. There’s even strings of lights overhead making it perfect for dinners under the stars.
Our spacious bathroom features marble top vanity sink with drawers to store your toiletries. Trendy cement tiles and artwork add to the beachy vibe. Plenty of white fluffy cotton towels, hand towels and washcloths and a few beach towels are provided. We also provide a blow dryer, iron and ironing board. There’s spray starch and even mosquito spray just in case you need it. A First Aid Kit is provided.
Towelettes are available for removing makeup.
What would living the beach life be without an enclosed private outdoor shower? Ours is huge! It even has room for a small bench that provides a serene place to meditate. There's a handheld shower head to spray off the sand between your toes from your day at the beach. We provide plenty of complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap too. (*Please Note: We only have an enclosed outdoor shower. There is no indoor shower or bathtub, but we promise you will love it! Just check out our reviews!)
The town of Playa del Rey is a quintessential beach town with everything you could want within walking distance. Don’t want to walk? We also have rental bikes and Bird scooters scattered around town for your convenience. Just be sure you've downloaded the Uber and Lyft app before you get here. You can use the app to locate one which is always close by if you need it. Don't forget to download the app!
In town, we have a newly restored 1920's quirky coffee shop called Tanner's, and several sports bars, wine bars and restaurants.
Enjoy breakfast lunch or dinner just steps from the golden sand at Playa Provisions American and Seafood Restaurant. Grab a coffee, a quick breakfast or a sandwich to go or come back for dinner Don't forget to check out the Speakeasy Whiskey bar tucked in the back!
We have Italian two ways: Old school at Cantalini's (Order the calamari!) or gourmet at Cafe Pinguini where da waiters-ah talk-ah like-ah dis-ah. You'll think you jetted off to Rome for a romantic alfresco dinner under the stars!
Gordon's, our local convenience store is great for planning a picnic at the beach. They have wine, beer, snacks and cheeses. They even have a Poke bar in the back of the store. This little secret spot has some of the best food in town! I love the green papaya salad!
Enjoy delicious Mexican food at Señor G's and they have fresh pressed juices too.
Mo's is where the locals hang out for drinks and a game of pool it was also featured on The Simpsons.
In the same parking lot we have a new sushi restaurant, Beluga and Milano's which is great for breakfast or lunch before you go to the beach. They have everything!
Needless to say, you'll find everything your heart desires here and we are just minutes from LAX! Be aware that because we live so close to LAX, there is some airplane noise but with all that Playa has to offer nobody seems to care. You may hear it a little in the morning or late afternoon. After awhile its just white noise and you wont even notice it. I always think of it as rolling thunder out over the ocean. Just ask our many neighbors who've lived here for years. Nobody seems to mind at all.
About 15 mins away, Locals and tourists alike love to go have an In N Out Burger and sit in the park across the parking lot where you can watch jets come in for a landing at LAX. You’ll swear you can just about touch the belly of a plane as it is about to touchdown! Also a great place to catch a sunset.
The Sweet Spot Guesthouse is a stand alone structures on the same property as our main house where we currently live. We are separated by the 38' long lap pool. You will come and go through the gate on the side of our home that has a key code entry on the handle. The lighted pathway leads to the back yard and pool. The Sweet Spot Guesthouse is just up the staircase on the other side of the pool. While we are sharing the same property, you can be assured that your privacy is important to us and we appreciate the same in return. There are four panels of curtains you can close in the guesthouse for complete privacy.
At our last home, in West Hollywood, we had a similar situation where there were two homes on one large lot. Over three years of offering our home for vacation rentals we consistently received excellent reviews. We are an easy going couple together for over 30 years. It is important to note that while we DO NOT ACCEPT PETS, we do have a yellow lab named Daisy, a Cane Corso Italian Mastiff puppy with one eye named Lefty (we thought we rescued a lab puppy) and a cat named Daphne, who all love to visit our guests!
Being on the same property means we are available (whenever possible) for whatever your needs may be while you stay with us. Whether you're out of shampoo or need restaurant recommendations, we are here to help make your stay be as memorable as possible. We have years of experience hosting and managing properties through various travel websites and we know what it takes to provide an enjoyable stay for our guests.

You are more than welcome to have up to 4 guests visiting until 12am.
During that time, out of respect for our neighbors, please keep noise to a minimum level.
