The paved McIntosh County bicycle-walking path, known as the Highlander bicycle path and part of the East Coast Greenway between Maine and Key West, is located across the street. Savannah is an hour's drive north.The charming town of Darien is three miles to the south and Harris Neck Wild Life Refuge is a 25 minute drive to the north. Sapelo Island is nearby. More History of the home....After the city of Darien was burned by Union troops in 1863, many timber merchants, bar pilots and physicians built new homes on this slight bluff three miles away from Darien Just above the river.
