This idyllic property with three separate residential buildings, the so-called “bergeries”, is near the little village of Meyrals, which lies between the valleys of the Dordogne and the Vézère, about 20km from Sarlat. Access to the property is via a short, steep track. The three former sheep barns were restored in 2009 and are perfect for those seeking something special. The bergeries have few neighbours and are surrounded by a 2000m² south-facing plot of land. The quiet location at the heart of the Périgord Noir is ideal for relaxing and walking, cycle tours or horse riding excursions. Discover the heritage of this beautiful area.
The three rustic little houses provide a total living space of 80m² and can only be booked together, therefore ideally accommodating six people. It is possible to provide two supplementary beds for two children. The rooms are simply and functionally furnished. The first bergerie measures 35m² on two floors. The ground floor provides a kitchen with a mini oven, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge with freezer compartment. There is also a dining space with a big teak table and eight chairs. The bathroom provides a shower, washbasin and WC. The upper floor has an attic room with a double bed 150cm wide. The second bergerie provides around 30m² of living space, also on two floors. The ground floor has a living room with a fireplace and furnished with a comfortable sofa and two armchairs. Upstairs there is a bedroom with two single beds 80cm wide. Wireless Internet access is available in this bergerie, which also works in the other buildings. The third bergerie measures around 20m². It consists of a parents’ bedroom with a double bed 140cm wide and a bathroom with a shower, washbasin and WC. All the bergeries have electric radiators. Firewood for the fireplace in the living room is provided free of charge.
Outside under the linden tree there is a shaded sitting area with a big wooden table and two wooden benches for up to eight people. An outdoor grill is provided. In front of the third bergerie there is a roofed sitting area with two teak armchairs. There is a private 10 x 5-metre pool in the garden. It also has a massage jet and an electronic alarm system, but even so children should be supervised by the pool. The tiled pool area has four deckchairs and a seating group and a parasol. There is also a teak bench for three people in the garden. It is possible to park two cars either along the driveway or up on the site. The site is surrounded by a wall and hedges 50cm to 2m high, so that you can also bring dogs who are not inclined to jump over walls.
As access is up a short, steep track, it is difficult for people with restricted mobility to park down on the track, in which case it is advisable to park up on the site.
It is 2km to the village of Meyral, where you can find a bakery where you can also buy groceries, as well as a butcher, a pizzeria and a café. There are other shops and supermarkets in the towns of Eyzies and St. Cyprien 5km away. Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy the canoeing tours on the nearby Dordogne or Vézère rivers, where you can also go swimming or fishing.
