Positive: We loved staying in Bilbao and the location of the hotel was very good; it's on a quiet street with a pinchos bar next door. There were no cafes nearby but less than a 10 minute walk there were a selection of cafes. The hotel is easy walking distance to the Guggenheim and to the main street for shopping. The room was okay for three people and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size, not huge but not cramped like many hotels we've stayed in and the shower was a proper one that didn't splash so much water on the floor to cause puddles.

Negative: The front desk staff was not at all welcoming. We arrived and when I went up to the reception staff person, I was the one who greeted her and told her we had a reservation. Without greeting us, she just requested our passports. Efficient with checking us in but bordering on cold. She did not tell us about the hotel amenities such as the fitness room or that we had the option of having breakfast and other meals at the hotel restaurant. When she had completed checking us in she said in a very quiet voice, "Bienvenidos". We had three in our party but only two cups and two glasses were provided. I called to request a third glass for the bathroom and explained there were three of us. A staff member who also did not greet me when I opened the door brought a glass that was not a proper glass; much smaller than the other two glasses that were provided. It was a "triple bed room". The third bed, my daughter's bed, was not provided with a throw nor a long pillow. My bed and my husband's bed had a decorative throw that we used as a blanket and we each had a regular pillow and a long pillow. The staff member who checked us out was not as cold as the check in staff member but she was also not very warm or welcoming.

Summary: Good location, clean hotel, quiet room but staff were not at all welcoming when we checked in.
