My husband dreamt of owning in Turks and Caicos. I spent 2 years searching the island with him engaging in what I was sure would be a fruitless exercise. We had spent a lot of time on the island in some beautiful homes, but I didn't just want a beautiful view or beach, I wanted amazing water. Too often, I had stayed in wonderful homes and then gotten in the water and been disappointed. Our home is located on the best water on the island. The depth fluctuates between 2 and 4 feet in front of the house, meaning I can stand and not get my hair wet if I don't want to. It also means my kids can play in the water without my anxiety escalating. The sand in the water is perfection. It is not muddy like some other areas of the island. It is not rocky. It rarely has seaweed. There is just fine, soft sand that feels great under the feet. Sometimes the water is like a beautiful lake; other times it has a gentle wave. In short, it is perfection. I was sold. And all of that was before I even saw the property, which is also amazing.
Deja Blu is more than a house, it is a private compound. Staying on the property feels more like being at a resort than being at a home. The 8 bedrooms are sprawled across the property with an unparalleled 280' of spectacular ocean frontage, incredible lush landscaping and beautiful limestone rock.
The property has approximately 9,000 sq. ft. of internal living areas open to more than 5,000 sq. ft. of outdoor finished areas. Expansive hardwood decks offer multiple lounge and dining areas, including a casual poolside dining terrace, and a dramatic formal dining terrace seating 14-16, only a few feet away from the sandy-bottomed turquoise waters where sea turtle sightings are commonplace.
Entertainment and activities are abundant with the home movie theater seating 10, the gym with its top-of-the-line cardio equipment (arc trainer, treadmill and spin bike), and a state-of-the-art lighted professional tennis court with a regulation basketball net and pickle ball lines.
Deja Blu, across 4.5 acres of lush, tropical gardens is nothing short of a private oasis. We promise you won't want to leave. Most of our renters become repeat guests.
Amenities include an outdoor shower, kayaks, paddle boards, Sonos, tennis rackets, pickle ball rackets, ball machine, board games and snorkel equiptment, among many many more. A coded security gate at the entrance to the property is there for your peace of mind. Summary: The property itself is lovely, with views and access to the ocean. The space is wonderful for big groups, with a tennis court, theatre room, game room and gathering space. It was the perfect location/space for our families. The short walk to Taylor Bay, and help from the butler Kemali to set up chairs and umbrellas for us, was wonderful. HIs attention to detail was very welcome. However, there were some things that caused concern. The home itself needs some TLC. Some outdoor chairs are in disrepair, as are the canvas awnings over the pavillion patios. Pool tiles are missing. But most upsetting was discovering that the Bunk Bed room, used by young children, is the only bedroom in the main house. It is physically distanced from all other (parent) bedrooms, which are in other buildings. The only access to this bedroom is a walkway that goes directly to the pier and ocean. The room can be locked with bolts from the outside, but who wants children locked inside a room if there was a fire? There is no mention on the website that this bedroom is isolated from all other bedrooms. It was upsetting to learn this upon arrival and parents were rightfully concerned. The butler service was nice, but we did not need two butlers each day. We often felt like we had visitors sharing our vacation home with us. (generally 8 am to 8 pm). It was not always relaxing/comfortable. We were told the house is being totally renovated in January 2025. This should eliminate many of the issues we had.
