Positive: The house is a beautiful cottage and it is set in a very picturesque setting with a fairytale-like garden!! The back garden was an added bonus which made our stay very memorable. The house is fully equipped with the basic essentials and our host provided us with clean brand new bedding and linen. There were two bathrooms on the top floor, and a toilet on the ground floor. Also, the added touch of some oranges to the small basic welcome package was much appreciated! The host was quick to respond to our enquiries and helped sort out some issues we had during our stay.
Negative: The property is located right at the end of the lane, and at the entrance to a large park, rendering it a bit isolated and out of the way, especially if you don’t have a vehicle to get to the train station. Although, there is a bus stop close by, it was tedious to get to the train stations, for us to get into central London. Moreover, not many uber cabs operated in the area. In terms of the house, both bathrooms were located in the top second floor, which could be something to consider if you have any issues climbing ( and also if you have luggage like we did). Lastly, the water was bit of an issue during our stay. The kitchen sink drained slowly, and one of the wash basins in the baths as well. The water supply was shut off , because of some sudden issue in the area, on the day of the checkout that was very inconvenient and rather unpleasant. The lights in the front and side of the house need signposting. Finally, a mirror in the second bathroom, and a few door stoppers could help.
Summary: We had a beautiful stay in a fairytale like cottage, albeit with a few hiccups along the way.
