Positive: Thoughtfully appointed, chic, and located in the heart of downtown. Also, the room was huge! The valet staff are outstanding, even during busy times. They remembered my car and provided excellent service, even before I had cash for tipping. There’s an ATM in the lobby. Get cash and tip them well. Devonte is the best!
Negative: I called down for a luggage cart before checkout and was told that there were none available. After carrying 2 boot boxes, a large suitcase, and 2 shopping bags down to valet, I checked for carts before going up for my second trip with more bags. I saw that there were indeed 5 luggage carts available. Those all clearly didn’t become available in 10 minutes. Check-in was tedious as well with the receptionist not able to find my Bonvoy membership but spending 10 minutes after I had just driven 4 hours from Houston. Our room faced the super busy street and it was loud on the weekend. I closed the drapes completely and didn’t have any problems going to sleep though.
Summary: I’ll be staying here every time I visit my daughter at SMU. Cheaper and way more stylish than the Beeman.
