Welcome to the Huron River retreat! We have 100’ on the Huron River! We have a new karge gazebo, a fire pit, 4 kayaks, a canoe & a dock! The almost 900 sf apartment has 1 lrg bedroom w/ a comfy king bed & 1 renovated bath. The location is PERFECT! You’re right off the freeway & in walking distance to many conveniences! Detroit is about 20 minutes away & Monroe is about 15 minutes away. You’re about a 1/2 hr. from Toledo & less than 5 miles from Beaumont Hospital! CLOSE TO METRO PARK, STATE LAND, HUNTING/FISHING!!
The space
We've just added a beautiful 10' x 14' gazebo with two picnic tables down by the river for our guests to enjoy!

This one bedroom apartment Is fully furnished with everything you should need in the kitchen. The living room has a 40 inch Roku TV with Netflix! It also has an EXTREMELY comfortable 8” innerspring futon mattress and a super soft chaise!
There’s new gray bamboo flooring throughout most of the apartment-the bedroom is carpeted. The bathroom has new ceramic tile and vanity and the kitchen has new countertops and flooring.
The bedroom has a king-sized memory foam bed that is extremely comfortable! There are two dressers. The closet is just outside the bedroom door. The iron is on the shelf in the closet.
We just love how convenient the apartment is! It’s the best of both worlds! The backyard has a very “up North” feel. There are all kinds of wildlife including geese, ducks, groundhogs, and many deer that come into the yard! Right across the river is state land-it’s great to go across the river and explore the woods!
We have a large parking lot and it’s only 10 miles from Fermi!! It can accommodate most boats! You have one parking space but there’s usually enough space for two vehicles.
You are right by Pointe Mouillee State Game Area and Lake Erie Metropark! Bring your bikes for some wonderful trails! GREAT FISHING!! However, you are two doors away from a Speedway convenience store, three doors away from The River Village restaurant-GREAT food at very good prices, especially their early bird breakfast, and about a half mile away from the local Huron River Inn, a charming little local bar with very reasonable food prices!
You are welcome to use our kayaks and canoe, however, you must take full responsibility for them and put them back the way that you found them. The paddle boat is not available. The current is usually too strong for it.
Please be aware that you are on a relatively busy street, and although the yard feels as though you’re up north, the road traffic can get noisy. We did also just add a really nice white noise machine with numerous sound options such as rain, ocean, etc.
We’re told that the building is the original general store. It is a very large old building and it was renovated into four apartments. Consequently, it’s not a typical apartment building and there are no shared walls. There is a hallway separating all the units and a 4 foot crawlspace between floors, but still be conscious that others are in the building.
We are just opening this up, please let us know immediately if anything is amiss! FYI, We are still working on landscaping.
Please note that code requires that all smoke detectors to be hard-wired and all apartments are inter-connected, i.e if one sets off, they all do.

We humbly request that as a guest, you make your needs/wants known and allow us to make everything as comfortable and convenient as possible. Please be aware that ratings are not the same as hotel ratings. 4's literally put out of business.
We have an extensive checklist of items, and it's possible that something might be left out, but please allow us the opportunity to rectify any issue. We pride ourselves on our customer service. Of course, if we don't respond or care for your needs, we would certainly expect to be marked down.
Additionally, please do not mark us down for things that we state in the ad, such as the fact that we are on a busy street or that the stairs are high. We state that in the ad, and we have added very nice white noise machines in all the bedrooms for our guests’ comfort (although most guests aren't bothered by the traffic). We believe that our prices, amenities and hospitality more than compensate.
Most importantly, please enjoy the beautiful river and our guest spaces as much as we hope you will!!

Guest access
The guests are free to use the property as they’d like. However, the basement right now has many tools and is used as a storage place. We do not want children in the basement at this time. However, you are free use The laundry facilities any time but the hours of 11 AM to 4 PM in case there are checkouts and we need to have access. We also request that you have your own laundry detergent because it will be too difficult to keep track of and we will need it for housekeeping.
Other things to note
You are free to use the kayaks, but please put them back and be VERY CAREFUL. We ask that only ADULTS go into the basement! It’s a storage and work area and has many tools and such and it’s not necessarily safe for children. Please do not use the laundry facilities between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm when housekeeping will need to have access to it. Also, please provide your own laundry soap; it will be too difficult to keep
Track of and we need to make sure we have it for check outs.
Pillows, sheets and a blanket for the futon are in the dresser in the living room. The extra blanket for the bed is in the dresser next to the bed.
There should be plenty of parking for your boat. Make sure you let us know that you will need an extension cord for power.
