Positive: I stayed at Seashore during Christmas. The staff had put out a Christmas tree with lights and baubles for me and also other decorations, and that was the nicest touch! This, as well as the thoughtful hamper, just made my stay! What attracted me to Seashore in the first place was the colourful decor. I loved the hints of yellow throughout, and that colour just brightens up a wintery visit. The lounge had a TV with all the streaming services. The sofa was comfortable, and there were board games and books and a selection of DVDs to watch. Unfortunately, the DVD player didn't work for me, but the staff were very good and said they would look into it after. It didn't ruin my stay as there were loads to watch over Christmas on the streaming channels. The staff were very good with communication. It was very handy to have a washing machine and this is located in the bedroom. The structure and design of the apartment is quirky! Those with mobility issues should be prepared for the amount of stairs and steps there are in the actual apartment! The apartment is located above Tom's Restaurant. The Thai restaurant next door was open on Christmas day, an ideal place to have a coffee in the morning. When leaving the apartment, you're instantly hit with the fresh smell of sea. Directly below is Kiosk which is a good place for a drink and bite on one of their orange deck chairs. The apartment is very near the park and easily accessed by the slopes. In the apartment itself, the kitchen is upstairs and is well equipped, including air fryer which helped me make a healthy Christmas meal. The shape of the kitchen is quirky. There is a door that leads to a small patio with outside seating. Had it been warmer, I would have sat out there. From the kitchen, the stairs lead back to the lounge and then from the lounge, there are stairs that lead to the bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
Negative: I wasn't aware before booking that I would need to get the keys from Lyme Bay offices which is up past the high street and at Kent House stop on the bus. During Christmas, the busses ran on a different schedule. Also with luggage, this can be awkward. Could a key safe at the apartment be more convenient? This isn't a massive problem now that I know I need to collect the keys first.
