This 5 bedroom/4.5 bath house on 4.5 acres is perfect for enjoying amazing views of Lake Lanier year round. This property is also the only environmentally sustainable rental on Lake Lanier. The home boasts a 12 kw solar system with backup batteries which generates the majority of the energy used at the property and helps to keep the lights on in case of a power outage.
When you're not enjoying the views or spending time in the lake or pool, the house also has 60' flat screen TV's in both the living room and game room that are great for watching sports and movies. In addition, there are two master suites at Sunset Summit. The upstairs master has beautiful views of the lake from the bedroom and bathroom and a large balcony to relax on while you enjoy your morning coffee or wind down at the end of your day. The master on the main floor has direct access to the pool deck and views of both the pool and lake. The dual masters ensure that multiple people have equally impressive views and amenities.
The home features a gourmet kitchen with double ovens and two dishwashers that are extremely helpful with large groups. There is also a fresh water 1/4 acre pond on the property that you can also fish on.
**The pool will be closed and covered from October 17 - March 16, each year. The spa is available, however, year-round.**
***The property does have outdoor cameras that are pointed at the driveway, front door, and dock. However, there are no cameras inside the house and there are no cameras on or around the pool deck. These cameras are used exclusively for safety/security of the house from people that shouldn't be there and also safety for our guests to know the house is secure when they get there. We actively monitor these exterior cameras when nobody is at the property. Once guests arrive, we don't actively monitor the cameras. ***
The home furnishings and floor plan are perfect for a small group or multi-family/multi-generational groups. This property was custom built by a home builder and every detail from the interior to the massive retaining walls and landscaping were meticulously executed. The home was further renovated three years ago. Michelle and I continue to improve the property where possible and we have no doubt that your group will thoroughly enjoy this three-level house regardless of the purpose of your trip. Through the years we've booked groups for family reunions, friend gatherings, Road Atlanta race weekends, races at the Olympic Rowing Venue, lodging for a wedding party at Walters Barn, and group fishing trips.
This home has amazing open water lake views that are unobstructed from most rooms in the house and the pool deck which is very uncommon for Lake Lanier. There is also a double-slip dock with party deck that you can use with your own boat or rent one from Gainesville Marina. We also have a four seat pedal boat available for our guests. This northeastern part of the lake is calm for fishing or water skiing or just playing around the water or using our pedal boat.
Don Carter State park is directly across the water from the house. This is the only state park on Lake Lanier (all other parks are federally run). The park includes 1,300 acres with great amenities such as horseback riding trails, hiking/walking trails, sand beach, camping and cottage sites. The park can be easily accessed with our pedal boat or your own boat/rental boat. For further information on the park, please see the included link in the 'Links & Video' section of this listing.
Last but not least, this home is very convenient to multiple venues including: Chateau Elan, Road Atlanta, Olympic Rowing Venue, Walters Barn wedding venue, UGA, Gainesville, Cumming, and the North East Georgia Mountains.
