Stay in this historic home built in 1904. Plenty of room for the extended family! Nestled in the trees, this enchanting home has served as a family retreat for generations, and was featured in Cheaper by the Dozen. Constructed entirely of wood from floors to ceilings, this two story home has 6 bedrooms, 2 freshly remodeled bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and large living room, with a walk-around deck perched on the hillside looking through Redwoods with a peek of Tomales Bay & the hills beyond.

Cleaning: Your safety is our priority. We have always been obsessed with the cleanliness of our homes, and in light of the recent events, we have increased our already stringent cleaning procedures and policies. Our cleaning and maintenance staff have been, and will continue to be updated and trained to ensure that the homes we manage are as safe, if not safer than, anywhere one could hope to be. We don’t normally use harsh cleaning products, but we are adding bleach and other disinfecting products into the mix out of an abundance of caution. We use Alsco linen service, which already complies with stringent standards for hospitals, so you can rest assured that the linens are fresh and disinfected. We are budgeting additional hours of cleaning after each guest, at our expense, to ensure that the homes are thoroughly cleaned, and we are going overboard, I assure you - better safe than sorry!
We strongly urge guests to procure travel insurance which includes trip interruption coverage.
We hope that you will feel safe and comfortable, and enjoy getting out here to nature and find a temporary respite from the world.

Point Reyes Vacation Rentals
Wildwood is a six-bedroom, two-story home, located 1/2 mile behind the town of Inverness, just minutes from the Point Reyes National Seashore. There are excellent hiking and biking trails straight from your doorstep, and the tiny hamlet of Inverness is a 2 minute car ride, or a pleasant 10 minute stroll through the neighborhood.
This historic home has been a family retreat for generations, and was featured in Cheaper by the Dozen, and is now available for you to enjoy! With six bedrooms & huge decks, this home is the perfect place for families and groups to gather together.
Downstairs is the kitchen, dining room, large living room, two bedrooms (Queen, two twins), and a split bathroom (toilet room & tub/shower room). Doors lead out to the large wrap-around deck with two tables, adirondack chairs, new Weber gas grill, and views of the redwoods. There's a peek of a view of the waters of Tomales Bay and the hills beyond.
Upstairs has 4 bedrooms (King, Queen, Queen, Double) and one bathroom with separate tub/shower room and water closet (toilet).
The kitchen was just remodeled, with new dishwasher, sink, cabinets, countertops, fridge, and oven/stovetop.
The living room has a nice flatscreen TV with cable, dvd player, internet, and HDMI cable. Our internet is great, streaming is no problem. In the game closet you will find plenty of games and puzzles for all ages.
The huge deck wraps completely around the entire home, with two large picnic tables, and eight adirondack chairs, perfect for sitting under the Redwoods catching up while somebody grills the meat and oysters on the new Weber grill!
New Stuff! In preparing to rent this, we have done much work, and replaced many things, including:
Resurfaced floors upstairs & downstairs
Completely remodeled the kitchen, including all new appliances, sink, countertops, cupboards, paint, etc...
Replaced two loveseats in the living room.
Re-plumbed and re-wired most of the house.
Refurbished the fireplace, it is now fully functional, firelogs provided.
New gas grill.
New patio furniture.
New bedding, most of it organic fair trade from Coyuchi.
In short, we've spent months getting the house ready for you! That attention to detail will show, and You're going to love it!

Guests will have exclusive use of the entire property. There's a laundry room (exterior access to the basement), and a hillside with room for kids to run and play. A few houses further up the street the road ends and becomes a fire road going into the National Seashore, and connects to the Inverness Ridge Trail. There are numerous trails that branch off from there, and it is ideal for hiking, stroller-ing, or mountain biking. It's also fun to forage for huckleberries, blackberries, and mushrooms.
This property is professionally managed by Point Reyes Vacation Rentals. Upon confirmation of your reservation, you will be provided with complete self-checkin instructions, including lockbox code. We live nearby, and we are just a phone/text/email away, and can be at the property within minutes if the need arises. We're also happy to answer any questions, whether about the property, or while planning your time in the area. Think of us as your host and concierge.
This is not a party house. We're in a quiet neighborhood and noise travels at night in our little happy valley, so this is not the appropriate place for gatherings that will go loud or late. If that's what you're looking for, I have other homes that would be more appropriate, so contact me.

Non-guest visitors are limited to 2 without prior approval. Don't try to throw your wedding or party here - if that's what you're looking for, contact me, I have other properties that could work for you.
No animals - no exceptions, no matter how well behaved you may think they are, so please don't ask. If you simply must bring your pet, we can refer you to a local lady who dog-sits at her home, or to one of our other properties which welcomes dogs.
No smoking inside - does that even need to be said anymore?
Violation of either of these rules will incur a minimum $500 cleaning fee.
Other than that, we're easy and will assume that you'll be respectful and responsible.
