Positive: Lovely traditional French house in a quiet location in the small town of St Macaire. Well equipped, very clean, comfy bed. Nice and cool inside on hot days. Dominique was very friendly and helpful giving us lots of information about the area. He even let us borrow a couple of bikes which enabled us to explore along the Garonne and places off the beaten track. St Macaire has a good Boulangerie and Boucherie and a small general store plus a bank with cash machine. Langon is the next town approx 1 mile away and has several supermarkets plus plenty of places to eat. Trains run frequently to Bordeaux approx 35 min journey and well worth visiting.
