Positive: The beautiful, historic building is located in a picturesque setting. It's very calm and the staff is extremely welcoming. The rooms are lovingly restored, well equipped and the gifted food and drink basics were a welcomed surprise. The hotel is located quite far from the village, so a car is highly recommended, however the setting in the countryside is wonderful and relaxing.
Negative: The pool is nice but the area around it could use some attention (pool cleaning supplies and old furniture lying around). It would have been helpful to know how far the property is located away from the main road, as GoogleMaps shows a wrong location. The walk up the private road is far and hard to navigate if you're arriving by bus with luggage. Contact the friendly hotel staff in advance for pick-up at the bus stop!
