Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The young lady who worked at the reception was friendly.
Negative: I suppose its cultural, but when I arrived I was met with intimidating faces from the male staff. Two of them came out to me when I parked. They looked me up and down but didn't smile or say anything. Just watched me as I walked past them to the reception. The same happened the next day when I saw them. Not welcoming. Then there are two friendly dogs who hang out at the entrance. Only problem is that they smell awful. I lived on a farm with dogs and have been in the Caucuses for a month. These dogs smelt worse than I have experienced. And you have to walk past them every time you go in and out of the hotel. If this place wants to compete as an upscale vineyard/hotel, then they need to improve their service and appearance. Also, I attempted a wine tasting but was told I could not because the person who gives the tasting was not there. I said I would just pay for a flight of 3 wines. This ended up being 50 GEL which is basically the price of three full glasses of wine at a nice restaurant in Tbilisi. The wine itself was ok.
Summary: There are better options if you want to experience the Georgian wine route.
