Positive: Le Bas de Laine is an absolutely beautiful property and the perfect place to stay in Franschhoek. The house is spacious, stylish, and immaculately maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered to make guests feel comfortable and at home. The location is peaceful and private, yet within easy walking distance of the village, shops, and fantastic restaurants. The outdoor areas are especially lovely, ideal for relaxing and spending time together, and the interiors are equally impressive with generous, comfortable bedrooms and elegant living spaces. Everything about our stay was seamless, from arrival to departure. Le Bas de Laine truly offers a luxurious yet welcoming experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Franschhoek.
Negative: There was some building work being done on a house close by, but it was not too noisy and did not inconvenience us. Really nothing else to complain about, and Peter (House Manager) or John (House Keeper) were available to quickly sort out any issues if they did occur.
