Positive: We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated how well the house worked for a large group. There are plenty of spaces for everyone to spread out, with a dining table that comfortably seats 12, two sitting rooms, and a games room in the loft. We were three families staying together, and everyone had their own space to relax. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything needed to cook for a large family. There are also two BBQs in the garden and plenty of outdoor seating, making it easy to enjoy meals outside. The location is perfect for families with young children. The house is quite secluded, so the kids could run around and make as much noise as they liked without disturbing anyone. For the early risers, a peaceful walk down the lane past fields and sheep was a lovely way to start the day. It's only a short drive to several beautiful beaches, with plenty of walking routes nearby as well. We also visited the Internal Fire Museum, which was a fascinating hidden gem, especially the working telephone exchange and impressive collection of engines. A couple of minor points to be aware of: the driveway is quite bumpy, so you'll need to drive slowly. I imagine it could be a little more challenging in the dark during winter. We also found there were only three toilet rolls provided for the whole house, which I'm sure was just an oversight by the cleaning team. As expected with such an old property, the floors slope in places, the stairs creak, and you can hear people moving around the house. However, that's all part of the character and charm of staying in a historic home. Once everyone had settled for the night, the house was peaceful and quiet. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return.
