Positive: Our stay at Shiki Hakone was truly exceptional. Beautifully designed by architect Ataru Shio, every detail reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and elegance. Not only is the architecture outstanding, but much of the furniture was also designed by the architect himself, creating a unique and harmonious atmosphere. His signature touches can be appreciated throughout, and the chairs are both beautiful and exceptionally comfortable. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right at the front door, several lovely restaurants within walking distance, and the Hakone Open-Air Museum just a few minutes away. We especially appreciated the high quality of the linen and towels, the very comfortable beds, the amazing toiletries provided for face, body, and hair, the beautiful cutlery and plates, and the lovely Japanese pajamas, which made the stay even more special. The shower deserves a special mention — quite simply the best shower we have ever experienced! The team was always quick to respond and very helpful. Being an architect myself and also a Superhost, I was delighted to discover this gem. I truly appreciated the care and attention that have gone into creating such a special place. We highly recommend Shiki Hakone. It is far more beautiful and impressive than the pictures can capture. A truly memorable stay, and one we would gladly return to.
