Ideally located in the Médoc Natural Park, between the estuary ports and the ocean, in a quiet and relaxing area:
- 30 minutes from ocean beaches (Montalivet, Plage des Pins)
- 20 minutes from Lake Hourtin and its leisure center (water sports, hiking, cycling, horse riding)
- 10 minutes from the estuary ports, Saint-Estèphe, and Pauillac
- 1 hour from Bordeaux, 1 hour from the bay, and 45 minutes from Verdon-sur-Mer
The accommodation is peaceful, in the heart of Vertheuil, one of the Médoc's most beautiful villages. You’ll find a café-restaurant with terrace in the 12th-century Abbey park, a grocery store (with oysters from the bay on weekends), a bakery, takeaway pizzeria, an eco-museum, and many nearby wine estates.

Summary: We had an amazing stay. Open communication with property manager (it was in French for us as I can speak/write it). Location is beautiful but you do need a car to drive around. For us, exactly what we needed. It is a stone-house, so most likely a bit older built so there was a bit of a musk smell, but we aired the house whilst being there and it wasn’t disruptive/something to complain about. Definitely would book it again! Just wished the weather was a bit better to make the most if the garden and swimming pool as it is a little piece of heaven.
