Positive: The property is centrally located in the heart of the historic district of Rome. It is easy to walk to every major site that you would want to go to. The apartment is very modern with brand new appliances, beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms were up-to-date. There was a lot of windows that let in a lot of sunshine. Opening the windows and letting the fresh air into the apartment was very easy and quite enjoyable. For the most part, the host was very accommodating and responsive to any issues. When I did have some minor issues, the host addressed them efficiently. I would definitely recommend this apartment to any family as there was so much room to relax and stretch out. You can’t beat the location and the modernness of the apartment.
Negative: There are two main issues with this apartment. The first being that it is in a square that people walk through and visit. If you are a light sleeper, you will hear the noise of the people and vehicles that come into the square to take out the trash for the restaurants in the morning in the square. My wife and son who slept in the bedroom with the windows on the square took a long time to fall asleep given that they could hear the low hum of noise. I made sure that the windows were closed properly and even then you could still hear the noise, especially children laughing, or people partying in the restaurant nearby. If you are a light sleeper, it is best to stay in the second bedroom farthest away from the square as that room was very quiet. The second issue with the apartment was that the owners use an app as a digital key for the guest to open the front door and apartment door. Unfortunately if you don’t have a strong cell signal, you may have some issues getting into the apartment as the building has very thick walls. On our second day, we could not get back into the apartment in the morning as our cell signal could not get through the walls and the Wi-Fi connection in the apartment was not working properly. My family eventually had to abandon getting into the apartment and asking the host to drop off some physical keys for us to use and have on us for the remainder of the trip.
